Maartje holds a Master’s degree in Civil Law, with a focus on Intellectual Property. During her studies, she worked at a major food retailer. Maartje also has years of work experience at a legal publisher. Here she was exposed with all facets of Intellectual Property and Life Sciences.

At Axon, Maartje’s focus is on the food practice. She advises clients on various types of contracts and matters regarding to IP, health and nutrition claims, novel foods and other food-related topics. Next to that, she writes about developments in the food industry at www.foodhealthlegal.eu.

In her spare time, she enjoys going on citytrips, spinning and participating in pubquizes.
